Addaction Sheffield, aim to reduce drug-related offending behaviour and engaging people in treatment. Track and work with individuals who have tested positive for opiates or cocaine through the criminal justice system with the aim of preparing and supporting service users to access and remain in treatment.

The Aspire drug and alcohol service helps adults who have problems with drugs or alcohol. They offer support such as catching issues early, helping people safely stop using drugs or alcohol in their own communities, and working in groups to get better together.
The drop-in service is open Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday 9am-5pm and Monday and Thursday 9am-7pm.
Beacon South Yorkshire are dedicated to supporting carers across South Yorkshire through physical and emotional support sessions that allow them to carry on caring.
Barnsley Recovery Steps is an integrated drug and alcohol recovery service for Barnsley. Theirr aim is to help as many people as possible to recover from and be free from drug and alcohol dependency, and to reduce the harm that is caused to individuals, families and communities. The Recovery Steps service is delivered by Humankind on behalf of Barnsley Metropolitan Borough Council. Their service works in local communities to support people with drugs and/or alcohol issues.
As part of their support, Barnsley Recovery Steps delivered by Humankind offers the following: One-to-one support - Structured group therapy work - Support to family members, involving them as part of your recovery plan wherever possible and with your consent - A health and wellbeing check, health screenings, blood testing and vaccinations - Help you achieve a balanced approach to life through therapeutic intervention - Support to reduce harm and prevent overdose - Substitute medication is available for some drugs that you may use - Detox from alcohol and/or drugs - A peer mentor/volunteer to give you additional support.
This project is for offenders only and accessible to those young people referred through the criminal justice system.
Change Grow Live is an accommodation charity providing prevention treatment and recovery support services across England and Wales. Support those affected by drug or alcohol abuse, criminal justice system, homelessness.
- Services shaped by the people who access them and have launched a co-produced toolkit to help teams listen to the people served.
- 16-25 accessible, engaging harm reduction for young people – find out what works for the young people and bring that support out into the community.
Changing Futures sets to improve the way that systems and services work to support individuals facing multiple disadvantage:
- Coproduction and peer support – South Yorkshire Housing Association works in partnership with Crisis, are delivering a Coproduction and Peer Support service. This service is increasing the influence of people with lived experience of multiple disadvantage on the design and delivery of services and the city’s overall strategy and approach to multiple disadvantage. They are working to increase the number of ways in which people currently experiencing multiple disadvantage can benefit from empathetic and credible role models.
- Core Delivery Team – caseload of 81 adults (7 per case worker). People receiving support from the progragramme also have access to additional psychiatric, psychological and primary care support, alongside personalisation budgets to meet their goals.
- Positive Activities – partnered with the Sheffield Drug and Alcohol Commissioning Team to co-commission the ‘Positive Activities for Adults in Recovery Fund’ which is administered and coproduced by South Yorkshire Housing Association.
- Learning and Development – Via Project 6, developing and offering bespoke training and awareness-raising activities, centred on knowledge of multiple disadvantage and implementing trauma-informed and person-centred approaches. Learning from all areas of the programme at a system level to develop consensus and sustainable, collective solutions.
- Enhanced and dedicated specialist support – increased the capacity of Sheffield Homeless Assessment and Support Team which provides access to healthcare services. Partnered with Paradigm Psychology to provide psychological support to support caseload and staff. Working with Cranstaun to deliver specialist support service for perpetrators of domestic violence.
- Data and Information Sharing – Mixture of data-led and operational intelligence approaches to inform how we work, from identifying caseload to helping inform service design and delivery. Repeatedly seek consent to share specific information with specific partners when needed. Developing a client portal so those supported have direct access to their records at any time.
Fresh Start Community Housing helps vulnerable people gain access to appropriate housing and necessary support. Providing services that assist people with a wide range of issues, including homelessness, ex offenders, single mothers and alcohol and substance misuse. There are three categories of clients that they assist:
Sober Home: Fresh Start Sober Homes (FSSH) is a housing service in Sheffield for people in recovery from substance abuse. The service offers low – medium support during office hours for as long as it take to get them back on there feet and also help with house and support for clients that have a minimum of 12 weeks total abstinence in one of their Sober Houses.
Homelessness: Fresh Start Housing Service understands that being homeless doesn’t always mean you’re sleeping rough. Their services are also for people who are without settled, safe or secure accommodation – you may be sofa surfing, threatened with eviction or where you’re living may be unsuitable for a variety of reasons. First and foremost, Fresh Start Housing Services offer accommodation to people and families in housing crisis.

Project 3 works with young people aged 18 years and under who need advice information, help, support and intervention around; sexual health and contraception, drugs, alcohol and legal highs, quitting smoking, education and hidden harm support.
Offers peer support services and recovery-focused activities, training and residential rehabilitation.
Adults experiencing problems with drug misuse can access referrals, support, needle exchange, recovery activities.
Opiate misuse drop-in sessions, assessment, prescribed treatments and access to other recovery services and referrals.
The Greens drug and alcohol recovery accommodation in Sheffield. They can help with:

Charter Row Lifehouse provides 57 units of supported accommodation for single men, aged 18+ who are experiencing homelessness for a period of up to a year. Clients need to be experiencing homelessness and have identified support needs around a lack of independent living skills. Support is provided on either a half board or bed and breakfast basis. £34 (Half Board) £18 (Bed and Breakfast) per week. All residents have access to a support worker and an activity programme which offers support with Education, Training and Employability Skills. Drop in services are also provided via Hanover Medical Centre / Devonshire Green (GP) and a range of other local partners.
Referrals to the service come via Howden House and Sheffield City Council's Housing Solutions team.
