YMCA Barnsley is a long-standing, independent local charity focused on empowering children and young people. They offer diverse youth programs, safe spaces, and support services to help young people thrive. They also provide affordable room rentals to other charities and support the homeless and vulnerable, all while aiming to maintain their community legacy. Services provided include by YMCA Barnsley :
Each weekday morning between 8.00am and 9.00am we offer:

- Showers
- Clothes washing & drying service – NOT PRESENTLY AVAILABLE DUE TO BUILDING WORK
- Referral service to BMBC Housing
Items available: Furniture, linen, Clothing, Shoes, small electrical items, bric a brac and much more.
We offer great opportunities to develop through education and training. You can start on a Study Programme or a Traineeship to build the skills needed in the work place and then step into an Apprenticeship.
MESMAC Clinics offer drop in testing fror HIV, Syphlis, Gonorrhoea, Chlamydia and Pregnancy. Open Tuesday 10:00 - 14:00 and Thursday 15:00 - 19:00 only. Also open on the first Saturday of each month.
Barnsley's Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service (CAMHS) works with children and young people up to the age of 18 who have mental health or emotional difficulties._x000D_

Safe, secure accommodation and specialist therapeutic support services for young women, girls and their children affected by sexual abuse, sexual exploitation and domestic abuse in Sheffield, UK. Therapeutic support for young women (aged 16 – 25 years) and their children who have been affected by sexual abuse, sexual exploitation and intimate partner abuse.
- A Safe Place to Live – provides accommodation and housing support to establish a safe and secure home, providing the crucial foundation for recovery. Accommodation offered: shared safe house, self-contained single flats and houses for women with children, resettlement support, outreach service if a young woman already has somewhere safe to live, but would benefit from specialist therapeutic support services.
- Therapeutic support and practical help – person-centred, holistic support, based on the individual needs. Together with specialist support workers, clients develop their support to enable them to achieve their personal goals, alongside therapeutic interventions and activities.
- “Protect Yourself” – Groups and one to one session for girls and young women – person-centred, holistic approach to personal safety and healthy relationships.
- “Parents As First Teachers” – Groups and one to one sessions for young women and their children – successful research and evidence based parenting support programme for “at risk families”.
Zest is a Sheffield-based community organization, primarily serving Upperthorpe, Netherthorpe, and Langsett. They offer a range of community-driven activities and services for children and adults, encompassing leisure, health, and employment support. To provide a healthy living centre delivering responsive services to tackle local inequalities. Services include:
- Physical fitness – including gym facilities, swimming pool and exercise classes
- Health and wellbeing activities
- Library, including an IT suite
- Activities for children, parents and families
- Zest for Work – employment support or help to find volunteering activities
- Dementia friendly services
- Steel City Dads – for Dads and Co-parents who have children from pregnancy to 2 years old and are experiencing mild mental health and/or supporting Mums with perinatal mental health, birth trauma, child loss and miscarriage.
